A physician assistant who works in in Kankakee County's jails is on paid administrative leave amid an internal investigation after he was indicted Friday for allegedly helping a fugitive last fall. Timothy J. Menard, 53, of Kankakee, was indicted by a Kankakee County grand jury Friday on one count of concealing or aiding a fugitive, according to a copy of his indictment obtained Monday by The Daily Journal. Menard, who has worked in the jails for about 2 1/2 years, was accused of helping prevent the recapture of prisoner James R. Kupferer, 23, of Kankakee, according to court and Illinois Department of Corrections records. Read More. |
