MO Man's Trial Begins For Beating Infant

Miller County, Mo. — Christopher N. Blood's case in Miller County is moving forward almost a year after the 36-year-old Holden, Mo., man was arrested for abusing his then-6-week-old infant.

On Monday, Blood waived his right to a preliminary hearing and the case was bound over to Miller County Circuit Court.

About the Case Christopher N. Blood — 36, of Holden Charged Four counts of abuse of child - serious emotional injury (class B felonies) When Oct. 2009 Background Was arrested after he and his wife, Jessica A. Blood, 22 of Eldon, brought their then-6-week-old infant to the hospital with a broken leg. Doctors would reveal more injuries including another broken leg, a broken left arm and four broken ribs. The Eldon couple would later confess to gripping and squeezing their son along his back and chest because he would not stop crying. Christopher also admitted to grabbing the baby on his arms and legs. Earlier this year, Jessica pleaded guilty to one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child in the first degree, a class C felony. She was sentenced to five years in prison.
