A forum on sex crime prevention will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Dummerston Elementary School gym. The Vermont State Police will discuss prevention of sex crimes and the investigation of such crimes against children, the Windham County State’s Attorney’s Office will talk about prosecution of alleged sex offenders, and a representative of the Department of Corrections will describe the department’s process for treating and monitoring offenders after they are released from prison. The Department of Corrections will also give an overview of the Vermont’s Sex Offender Registry. This presentation will provide the public information on how to access the registry for information on convicted sex offenders living in their communities. Read More. |
