A state corrections officer in Lake County was arrested on charges of attempting to purchase cocaine from an undercover narcotics detective this morning, officials said. Freddie Baker, 44, made contact with an undercover detective Tuesday night in an attempt to purchase cocaine and they decided to meet at a Circle K gas station in Leesburg, according to an arrest report. The corrections officer arrived at the gas station on his motorcycle and paid the detective $20 for "three baggies containing cocaine," the report said. Lake County Sheriff's deputies arrested Baker a short time later and charged him this morning with cocaine possession and solicitation of another to purchase cocaine. Read More. |
