| Man Charged With Stabbing, Killing Girlfriend |

Dorall Smith, 32, was indicted this week in the fatal stabbing of his 19-year-old girlfriend, Dawn Vigil. A Bernalillo County grand jury heard evidence in the case Monday and returned an indictment charging Smith with first-degree murder and two felony counts of tampering with evidence for hiding or destroying his clothes and the knife believed to have been used in the killing. Vigil's body was found on a sidewalk at Chico and Chelwood NE by a newspaper deliveryman in the early-morning hours of Sept. 2. She had suffered multiple stab wounds. At the time of his arrest, Smith was also wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in May in Metropolitan Court on misdemeanor domestic violence charges involving Vigil. Read More. |
