MID-MICHIGAN (WJRT) -- (09/22/10)--State lawmakers are working to erase a more than $480 million budget shortfall and time is running out. The Department of Corrections is being called on to trim $42 million in unspecified cuts. Prison union leaders say they've already cut to the bone and anything more will put the correction officers and the community at risk. "Every department is going to take a hit," said Rep.
