Afghan authorities are touring South Carolina Department of Corrections facilities and meeting with agency officials to learn more about how to run prisons safely and efficiently on a shoestring budget. This is the second group to visit from Afghanistan in the past four years. Officials from Iraq, Kurdistan and the Democratic Republic of Congo also have visited and learned more about S.C.
