| Fire Chief To Join State Parole Board |

SEABROOK — Fire Chief Jeff Brown was confirmed for a position on the state Parole Board by the Executive Council last week. Brown will sit on parole and revocation hearings in Concord at a time when new legislation has revised the sentencing practice for parolees and probationers. "I'm kind of jumping into the fire," said Brown. Senate Bill 500, an exercise in parole reform, brings changes to that system that affect nonviolent offenders serving sentences for charges such as property or drug crimes.
