| Female Killer's Family Subpoenaed |

Three members of convicted killer Shirley Skinner’s family have been subpoenaed to appear before a Cass County grand jury in an ongoing investigation into the 2008 fatal shooting of Steven Watkins. Skinner’s husband, Kenneth Skinner, her daughter, Debbie Webster, and her granddaughter, Jennifer Watkins, received subpoenas earlier this week from special prosecutor Ed Parkinson, Skinner’s son, Ed Skinner, said Tuesday. He made the comment after leaving a courtroom in Beardstown, where he testified at a civil trial related to Dale and Penny Watkins’ court battle over visitation with their son’s 3-year-old daughter, Sidney Watkins. “I can confirm that I have issued subpoenas to certain people who either were present in the home at the time of the shooting or shortly thereafter,” said Parkinson, a former Morgan County state’s attorney who is now with the State’s Attorneys Appellate Prosecutor’s Office.
