| Man Gets Jail Time For Selling Drugs |

Louisville, Ill. — Last week in Clay County Court, Steven D. Powell, age 24, of Flora, was ordered to serve a thirty-two month sentence in the Illinois Department of Corrections. According to State’s Attorney Marilyn Brant, Powell was indicted by a grand jury convened in March of this year for the offense of Unlawful Delivery of Cannabis, more than ten grams but less than thirty grams. That delivery was alleged to have taken place on May 9, 2009 on South Mill Street in Flora. In addition to sentencing Powell to the Department of Corrections, Judge William Robin Todd ordered Powell to pay a $300.00 fine, a $500.00 mandatory drug assessment, a street value fine of $120.00, a laboratory fee of $100.00, a $150.00 contribution to the Coalition Against Drug Abuse, and reimbursement to Clay County for the services of the Public Defender in the amount of $250.00.
