| Prisoner Indicted For Killing Cellmate |

A Virginia prison inmate was indicted on a charge of first-degree murder in the stabbing of another inmate, from Portsmouth, at Greensville Correctional Center. Bernard Jay Dingle, 34, is accused of killing Eric O. Harris, 23, on Feb. 20. A grand jury indicted Dingle on Tuesday. They were the only two inmates in a cell together “and the victim comes out and was stabbed,” said Commonwealth’s Attorney Patricia Watson of Greensville County. Harris got in trouble in Portsmouth as a teenager in 2005 when he stole more than 30 cars to go joyriding. He was being held in Greensville for violating probation. Read More. |
