Confusion over a prisoner’s status led to another early release at the George W. Hill Correctional Facility in Thornbury over the weekend, though it was of a different kind than plagued the prison over the summer. Cyril Devine, 49, of Downingtown, a former oil company executive sentenced to prison in August for child pornography, was set free after serving a weekend at the prison this month. But Devine, who earlier this year pleaded guilty to six counts of possession of child pornography and one count of criminal use of a communication facility, was supposed to serve at least two months. Delaware County Court of Common Pleas Judge James Bradley sentenced Devine to two to six months imprisonment beginning Oct. 1, plus seven years probation. Read More. |
