| Man Gets 25 Years For Intent To Kill |

An Orangeburg man will be 47 years old before he is released from prison after a jury found him guilty of shooting a woman during an April burglary. Through his attorneys, Walter James Greene Jr., 22, argued he was at his mother's home a mile away at the time of the shooting. A jury spent less than two hours deciding otherwise. "You are committed to the state Department of Corrections for 25 years," said Circuit Court Judge Ed Dickson of Greene's first-degree burglary charge. The jury also found Greene guilty of assault and battery with intent to kill and attempted armed robbery. Dickson sentenced the Limit Street man to 20 years on each of those charges, which are to run concurrently with the initial 25-year sentence. Read More. |
