| DOC Holding Fundraiser Cook Off |

The Hudson County Department of Corrections is hosting a fundraiser tomorrow to help out one of their own. The department is raising money for Corrections Officer Anita Holmes, who is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer, Corrections Officer Lakia Gaillard said. The fundraising event - Cook for a Cure - is being held 4 to 8 p.m. at the Hudson County Community College Culinary Center, 161 Newkirk St., Jersey City. The event will feature a cooking competition between corrections officers and supervisors at the cooking school. Eight contestants will have 90 minutes to prepare a chicken, rice and asparagus dish, any way they choose, Gaillard said. Read More. |
