| Embezzlment Leads To Charges Against VT Probation Officer |

BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) — Prosecutors in Vermont say a state probation officer is accused of embezzlement for charging the clients she was supposed to be supervising. Brenda Massie, a veteran Department of Corrections employee, is charged with five counts of false pretenses. She pleaded not guilty at an arraignment in Burlington on Monday. Prosecutor T.J. Donovan says Massie told her clients she was collecting supervision fees, and that she converted the money they gave her for her own personal use. Read More. |
