The Florida Department of Law Enforcement, in conjunction with the Florida Department of Corrections, United States Marshals Service, the Bay, Gulf, Jackson and Washington County Sheriff’s Offices, and the Panama City and Springfield Police Departments arrested 21 individuals during a two-day roundup. The proactive safety operation, which began Oct. 8, was designed to ensure that state probationers in the four-county area were complying with the conditions of their probation. More than 30 local, state, and federal investigators from nine law enforcement agencies participated. Investigators focused on known gang members and felony probationers with a history of violence in Bay, Gulf, Jackson and Washington counties. Law enforcement officials made contact with approximately 70 offenders, using door-to-door checks to verify compliance with the terms of their probation.
