This may sound reminiscent of the old joke about life in a prisoner-of-war camp, but no one is laughing at the Bradley County jail in Tennessee. New inmates at the prison are being outfitted with the old underwear of other prisoners, reports MSNBC. The Bradley County Sheriff's Office says reusing the skivvies has been a longtime practice, though the clothing is sanitized before it's handed over to the lucky new prisoner. Not every jail in Tennessee follows this practice, however. The state's Department of Corrections gives inmates new underwear when they check in.
