| Man Charged With Kidnapping, No Bail |

A man accused of kidnapping a 7-year-old girl was denied bail Wednesday morning by a Rome magistrate judge. The defendant claimed the child is his daughter. “I don’t see how you get arrested for taking your own family,” James Davenport Ferrell told the judge. Ferrell, 33, is accused of kidnapping the girl Tuesday morning. According to Rome police, Ferrell took the child from her bedroom, through a window. The girl was found at a home in Polk County, where Ferrell was arrested. He was charged with kidnapping and burglary. Read More. |
