| Man Sentenced For Killing Teen Denied Parole |

BAD AXE — A Sanilac County man convicted in the 1992 stabbing death of a teen at a Caseville Township cottage will remain behind bars. Philip J. Paquette, now 52, was scheduled for parole until the Huron County Prosecutor’s Office appealed to Circuit Judge M. Richard Knoblock. Jan. 25, 1993, Knoblock sentenced Paquette to 20 to 40 years in prison. Last week, Knoblock put an end to Paquette's immediate parole hopes. A Huron County jury convicted Paquette of second-degree murder in the July 3, 1992, death of 18-year-old Michael R.
