DEDHAM, MA, Oct. 19, 2010 – Norfolk County Sheriff Michael G. Bellotti hosted The Adjutant General of the Massachusetts National recently in Dedham at an event where both men signed an agreement giving National Guard and Reserve members a leg up when it comes to consideration for employment. The Employer Partnership of the Armed Forces is dedicated to forming employment and business relationships that benefit Reservists and Guard members as well their employers. “We find that men and women who are Reserve or National Guard members are extremely well-trained, highly-motivated and utterly competent. They fit in well with the kind of agency we run here at the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office,” Sheriff Bellotti said. Maj. Gen. Joseph Carter extolled the virtues of the men and women who sacrifice their time and talents in service to their country in times of peace and war. Carter also praised the businesses and agencies such as the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office for entering into the Employer Partnership. “We want to recognize employers who take a leadership role in giving support to the members in the National Guard and Reserves,” Maj. Gen. Carter said as he shook hands with Sheriff Bellotti. “These men and women have an outstanding work ethic and are instilled with the highest values – such as integrity, honor, service and morality. Several of the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office staff members already have served overseas in National Guard or Reserve capacities in Iraq and Afghanistan. Sheriff Bellotti pledged to do all he can to help the people who form such an important component of the nation’s military force. “These men and women take themselves away from their family, friends and careers to make sure the rest of us remain safe,” Sheriff Bellotti said. “The least we can do is give them some extra consideration when they return to the workforce.” |
