Dawanda Boyd couldn't hold back the tears as she watched the man accused of killing her son. "It was heartbreaking to be there," she said. "It brought it all back up. I hardly could sit through it. I couldn't help not crying." As Boyd watched, Elliott L. Patterson, 31, was arraigned Tuesday in Calhoun County District Court on two counts of murder for the March 13, 2004, shooting deaths of Boyd's son, Antwain Carmouche, 17, and his girlfriend, Clova Keyes, 20, both of Battle Creek. Patterson also is charged with assault with intent to murder for the wounding of Eric Wazner, 24, of Battle Creek, as well as three weapons charges. Read More. |
