SAGINAW — Jason T. Shangle, 32, of Midland County, is a parolee charged with six felonies related to the break-in and theft of a rifle, jewelry, tools and cash from a home in Swan Creek Township that Saginaw County Sheriff’s officials say was reported stolen on Oct. 15.

He was sentenced on Feb. 29, 2008, convicted on two counts of possessing stolen property over $1,000 but under $20,000, as part of a plea deal. According to online state Department of Corrections, he received a maximum of five years in prison and was released under supervision on April 27 of this year.

Saginaw County Sheriff William L. Federspiel has requested a press conference at the Saginaw County Sheriff’s Department, 618 Cass in Saginaw, beginning at 10 a.m. today to discus the details of the crime and issues involving parolees.
