| DOC Rents Temporary Home For Former Inmates |

The State Department of Corrections has rented a home in Monticello that will serve as transitional housing for former prison inmates as they search for a permanent address. Residents say they were happy to see the nearby home readied for renters, but now say they are shocked and worried. The first resident of the home will move in October 25th and is a Level-3 sex offender. Brenda Welch has two small children and lives less than a third of a mile from the transitional home. She says her kids used to play outside on the lawn, but now family life will change dramatically.
