| Life Sentence Ends Short For Cop Killer |

DETROIT –– A man serving a life sentence for killing two Detroit police officers died Oct. 15. The Michigan Department of Corrections said Eric Lee Marshall, 29, died at Detroit Receiving Hospital as a result of a pre-existing condition. Marshall was sentenced in 2005 to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the 2004 shooting deaths of police Officer Matthew Bowens, 21, of Lincoln Park and his partner, Officer Jennifer Fettig, 26, of Detroit. The News-Herald Newspapers reported at the time that Marshall ambushed the two officers as they were sitting in a patrol car after he was pulled over for soliciting a prostitute. Read More. |
