Seattle police arrested a 26-year-old man wanted on felony arrests after an early morning pursuit on southbound Interstate 5 that ended in Tukwila Thursday. According to the report: Gang detectives received information that the suspect who was wanted for questioning in two recent shootings was at a location in South Seattle. They were told he was driving a 1991 black Mercedes and might be possibly armed with a handgun. Upon arriving at the address, officials spotted the Mercedes parked outside around 12:30 a.m. They set up surveillance and watched the suspect return and drive off in the car about forty-five minutes later. They followed the Mercedes in an unmarked car and called for additional officers. Five minutes later, several marked police cruisers pulled in behind the Mercedes and attempted to stop the suspect at 43rd Place S. and S. 116th St. The driver immediately raced off and eventually got onto I-5. Several law enforcement agencies, including the Washington State Patrol, King County Sheriff’s Department and Tukwila Police joined the high-speed chase. The suspect got off at the S. 320th St. exit in Federal Way where he drove eastbound before heading back onto the freeway northbound. The Mercedes exited I-5 near Westfield Southcenter mall and drove on the side streets. The man ditched the car near an apartment complex in the 15700 block of 39th Pl. S. in Tukwila. The driver and a passenger fled on foot. Read More. |
