Cold showers spark heated fight at jail |

Two Washington state inmates are in hot water after a cold shower sparked a fist fight at the Geiger Corrections Center, officials said. The hot water has not been working in one section of the prison for the past week. Frustrations over that, coupled with a recent ban on smoking, have heightened tensions among inmates, said custody manager Brett Sobosky. That apparently led to the fist fight between two inmates on Monday, he said. The exact cause of the fight was not disclosed. The inmates received first aid and did not require hospitalization, Sobosky said. Hot water was scheduled to be restored soon, he said. The smoking ban began July 1 and is part of a statewide plan to rid prisons of tobacco and pornography. |
