| Wisconsin Police Crack Down On Sex Offenders |

A 27-year-old sex offender who ran away from a Sheboygan halfway house in September was arrested late last week in Laredo, Texas, according to the Sheboygan Police Department. That arrest by the U.S. Marshals Service took place as Marshals teamed with Sheboygan police to arrest seven wanted felons in Sheboygan, Capt. James Veeser said in a news release. The arrests took place Oct. 21 and 22. The 27-year-old, Leo Hernandez, was convicted in 2002 of two counts of second-degree sexual assault of a child. He was recently placed at a Wisconsin Department of Corrections halfway house after accumulating several violations of extended supervision and two convictions for violating the sex offender registry, Veeser said. Hernandez is now facing federal charges for crossing state lines as a non-compliant sex offender. He was arrested Friday at his house in Laredo. Read More. |
