North Kingstown’s Paul Fetter Promoted to Lieutenant

CRANSTON, R.I. – October 29, 2010 – Corrections Director Ashbel T. Wall II has announced the promotion of Paul Fetter of North Kingstown, a 24-year veteran of the Department, to Correctional Officer Lieutenant, effective Sunday, October 31, 2010.

Lieutenant Fetter is temporarily assigned to men’s Minimum Security. He served for the past 14 years at the Donald Price Medium Security Facility and also spent several years at the High Security Facility. He was a K-9 handler for eleven years and was Assistant K-9 Commander for three years.

During his career with the Rhode Island Department of Corrections (RIDOC), Lt. Fetter has received numerous commendations and has taken nearly 30 specialized training courses. He was voted Officer of the Year at the High Security Facility in 1988 by the Rhode Island Brotherhood of Correctional Officers (RIBCO).

A Sergeant Major in the U.S. Army Reserve, Lt. Fetter received A.S. degrees in Corrections and Law Enforcement from the Community College of Rhode Island and a B.A. in the Administration of Justice from Salve Regina University.
