IL May Hand Out Life For Habitual Criminal

Cortez Richardson is not yet 30 years old and heading to prison for the rest of his life with the label "habitual criminal."

When Richardson forced his way into an East St. Louis home, armed with a gun on July 24, 2009, he was already a two-time felon who was on parole on a Madison County home invasion charge.

Richardson will be sentenced Nov. 22 under the habitual criminal statute.
