MANHATTAN — City corrections officials are working out a plan to safely release Lil' Wayne from Rikers Island on Thursday, a department spokesperson said. The famous rapper and convicted felon, whose real name is Dwayne Carter, is expected to be released on Thursday morning after serving eight months of a one-year sentence on a gun possession charge. The entertainer will be released early because of good behavior. But Lil' Wayne's mammoth popularity may present a security issue for jail personnel. "A plan is in development that will reflect any special security consideration that arise from his high profile," corrections spokesperson Stephen Morello said.
