| Sheriff Election Makes DOC Speak Out |

ALFRED, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Members of the corrections officers's union at the York County Jail spent the day picketing against the current sheriff, who's running for re-election. Members of the National Correctional Employees Union Local 109 voted to support Craig Gagne for sheriff over the current sheriff, Maurice Ouellette. They say Ouellette hasn't taken their complaints of misconduct against two superior officers seriously and that there's poor morale at the jail. However, only half of the corrections officers bothered to vote, and some of those who did not vote say they have no problem with the current administration. Read More. |
