Monterey County law enforcement agencies had a busy Halloween weekend with two separate crime sweeps — the first targeting gang members, the second sex offenders. In all, seven people were arrested, including four convicted sex offenders who officials said were found violating their parole terms Halloween night. The other sweep, held Saturday, was the fifth anti-gang operation conducted by the coalition of south Monterey County police departments in three months.
