| Parolee Accused Of Using City Gas Card |

A former Parsons city employee used a city Fuelman card to buy more than $4,000 worth of gas for his personal use, according to the state comptroller’s office. Timothy Westbrooks, who worked in the street department, found a retired city employee’s card while he was cleaning a city vehicle and removed the magnetic strip, according to Parsons Mayor Tim David Boaz. Boaz said Westbrooks, 33, was fired as soon as the city realized what had happened. Boaz said he did not know the exact date of Westbrooks’ termination but said he thought it was about a year ago. Westbrooks had worked for the city several years, Boaz said. According to a letter sent to District Attorney General Hansel McCadams from Dennis Dycus, director of the Comptroller’s Division of Municipal Audit, the investigation focused on the period of April 1 to Dec. 31, 2009.
