A Springfield man pleaded guilty Friday to failing to register as a sex offender. Jonathan A. Alford, 29, will spend the next four years in the Missouri Department of Corrections, according to online court documents. An online registry of sex offenders on the Greene County sheriff's website shows that Alford registered on the list Sept. 28. That was the day after he was arrested for being a parole absconder and failing to register his new address, court documents showed. Alford was convicted in 2003 of two counts of statutory sodomy with a 13-year-old girl in Springfield. He was sentenced to two 10-year prison terms to be served consecutively.
