A Valparaiso man sentenced in August to 35 years in federal prison, after pleading guilty to a charge of advertising child pornography, has been furthered order to pay one of his victims—whose images were found in his collection—more than half a million dollars. On Oct. 25, Nathaniel Josiah Worden, 29, was ordered to pay “Amy” a total of $533,244 in restitution: as broken down by U.S. District Court Judge Joseph Van Bokkelen, $512,681 in future treatment and counseling expenses; and the remainder for forensic examiner, attorney, and economist fees. Van Bokkelen noted in his order that Amy had been sexually abused as a young child by a relative, who “photographed the abuse” and “put her photographs on the Internet to trade with other collectors of child pornography. The photographs continue to be circulated and traded on the Internet. Mr. Worden possessed, among other pieces of child pornography, Amy’s photographs at the time of his arrest.” Read More. |
