NC Murder Suspect Arrested, No Stranger To Crime

A man wanted in connection with a murder at a nightclub in North Carolina was arrested Friday night at a Southampton Village residence.

Dayvon Terrell Hudgins, 21, of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, was taken into custody by Southampton Village Police at 6:21 p.m. on October 29. He was charged with first-degree murder and ordered held without bail while awaiting extradition to North Carolina.

Village Police said they received a call around 5 p.m. that evening from Rocky Mount Police that a murder suspect was at a home in the village. Upon investigation, Village Police arrested Mr. Hudgins at a residence on Windward Way. Captain Laura Fahnestock of the Rocky Mount Police Criminal Investigations Division said Mr. Hudgins has family in Southampton.

Police in North Carolina said Mr. Hudgins is a suspect in a shooting that broke out at a Rocky Mount club in the early morning hours on Sunday, October 24. Rocky Mount Police said 19-year-old Jordan Olivia Moody of Wilson, North Carolina, was shot in the head and died at a hospital from complications caused by her injuries.
