| Sex Offender Back In Court To Register |

(Stillwater, Okla.) -- An ex-convict who allegedly provided a false first name to Cushing Police Officer Justin Sappington has been ordered to appear in court Nov. 8 on a felony charge of failure to register as a sex offender. Shan D. Prather, 28, who has an extensive criminal record including sexual battery and burglary in Stillwater, got out of prison in 2008, state Department of Corrections records show. He is currently being held in the Payne County Jail in lieu of posting $7,500 bond on his latest charge, which includes a count of obstructing an officer. Prather gave his name as Darnquim Carnell to Officer Sappington, according to an affidavit by Cushing Police Detective Adam Harp. Read More. |
