MANITOWOC — Attorneys agreed to cap a prison sentence at 15 years of initial confinement for a 25-year-old Newton woman who pleaded guilty to first-degree sexual assault of a child as a party to a crime Tuesday in Manitowoc County Circuit Court. The woman admitted taking sexually explicit photographs of three girls — ages 2, 5 and 7 — and sexually assaulting one after a Wisconsin Department of Corrections officer found the pornographic images on a registered sex offender's cell phone, according to the criminal complaint. The woman's name has been withheld to protect the identity of the victims. Attorneys agreed to amend the charge to party to a crime because she took the photographs for the arousal of the sex offender, Jeffrey Prahl, 29, of Whitelaw. Prahl was sentenced to life in prison without parole in September. The complaint says Prahl and the woman exchanged 1,000 images over a two-month period on their cell phones. Phone records obtained by a subpoena show that Prahl sent the woman text messages specifying the sexually explicit images he wanted for his arousal. Read More. |
