Guam - A video recorded and produced behind bars reveals what's happening while convicted murderers and other convicted felons are supposed to be serving hard time. The 36-minute documentary shot a year ago has only recently surfaced, including on the popular social network Facebook, leaving many unanswered questions about life behind bars. It's a rare video - shot inside the Department of Corrections' Mangilao prison, inside the Minimum Security Unit - an inside look at life behind bars by self-proclaimed "Bad Boyz Gone Good", enjoying a barbeque with the two highest-ranking officers in the department. The inmate-produced video is now the subject of several investigations at DepCor. Shot on October 9, 2009 using a laptop webcam, the "Bad Boyz Gone Good" video features more than two-dozen inmates from DepCor's Post 24 preparing and enjoying a BBQ on the prison grounds in Mangilao. Complete with interviews and captions, the video starts off with a slideshow of the Post 24 (minimum security inmates), complete with captioned names and nicknames followed by video of the preparations for the undisclosed party as well as the barbecue. They even joke with the caption, "Yes, we're actually doing hard time". Read More. |

The Guam Life behind barsarticle failed to mention that these were minimum security inmates who are almost complete with their sentence. In addition, that was a BBQ reward for the group that volunteered to fix and make repairs to a government building saving $$$. The interesting twist to this event is that this video was taken off a hardrive of a laptop computer that was originally confiscated as evidence in a murder of another inmate. So, how exactly did this video get to the media's hands?
