An Orland Park woman facing up to 60 years in prison for the beating death of her 2-year-old niece was given 15 years after a plea agreement. Nour Hadid, 27, 9016 W. 140th St., pleaded guilty Friday to felony aggravated battery of a child in front of Judge Colleen McSweeney Moore at the Bridgeview courthouse. "This agreement was reached with support and involvement of family members," said Sally Daly, a spokeswoman for the Cook County state's attorney's office. Daly said the state's decision to agree to the plea was based on evidence in the case and applicable law. Daly said Hadid will immediately begin serving her sentence in the Illinois Department of Corrections. She has spent the last 18 months in Cook County Jail, Daly said. Read More. |
