| Suspect In Wild Police Chase Sentenced |

A Utah man, who led authorities on a chase on Highway 191 while intoxicated last May, was sentenced to five years probation in Gallatin County District Court Monday. Michael Victor Ayers, 53, of Salt Lake City, eventually rolled his vehicle on Madison Arm Road after driving at excessive speeds and making U-turns in the middle of the highway, authorities have said. Ayers fled after Highway Patrol Trooper Jonathan Scheer stopped him near West Yellowstone around 8:30 p.m. on May 31. The officer found an open bottle of whiskey in Ayers car after the crash. In court Monday, Ayers, who previously pleaded guilty to felony criminal endangerment, admitted he was an alcoholic. Read More. |
