SAUK RAPIDS — Sauk Rapids could lease office space in its new City Hall to the Minnesota Department of Corrections after a vote Monday from the City Council. City officials directed staff to draft a lease agreement for the possible partnership. Sauk Rapids plans to build a new City Hall and sell the current site to a Minneapolis developer. The estimated construction cost of the proposed 4,500 square feet of space in the new City Hall is about $690,000, according to city documents. The additional square footage brings the size of the new building to about 32,000 square feet, Finance Director Jack Kahlhamer said. The estimated annual lease payment is about $62,000 plus common area maintenance costs. Read More. |
