Authorities were searching Thursday for a 23-year-old inmate who escaped from a minimum-security fire camp in San Bernardino County. Edward David Torrison was handcuffed and being detained for possession of contraband about 5:25 p.m. when he slipped away from Pilot Rock, a state-run fire camp six miles outside Crestline, said Lt. David Fish, a spokesman for the state Department of Corrections. Torrison, who was convicted of petty theft with priors in San Diego County, was described as a white male, 6 feet tall, 160 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.
