Five former Clark County (Nev.) jail inmates have filed a federal lawsuit against the county after two officers tossed firecrackers into cells in 2003. The ACLU is also involved in the lawsuit filed last Tuesday in US District Court. The inmates are seeking more than $150,000 for hearing loss and emotional distress they say they suffered from the M-80 firecrackers. Two officers were suspended after an investigation. But the lawsuit says that amounted to just a slap on the wrist. |
