OK DOC May Suspend Visitation For 2 Months

OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma Department of Corrections is considering eliminating inmate visitation privileges from April through June next year if it doesn't receive a supplemental appropriation before then, DOC spokesman Jerry Massie confirmed Monday.

"That's insane," said the fiancé of an inmate at the Eddie Warrior Correctional Center for women in Taft. "That seems inhumane."

The man, who asked not to be identified for fear that there could be repercussions for his fianceé, said she has four children and that it seems unfair to keep them separated from their mother for that long.
