| AL DOC Graduates 100+ From Training |

The Alabama Department of Corrections on Wednesday graduated 106 new officers, the final class trained at Craig Field in Selma. The facility will be closing its doors after 30 years of training. Next year, recruits will train at a new $24.5 million center on the campus of Wallace Community College. Friends and family filled Troy University Davis Theatre for the Performing Arts in Montgomery to show their support for the 106 graduates. A total of 380 correctional officers graduated in 2010. Wendy Williams, the department's director of training, said the most recent class had an 88.3 percent graduation rate. Read More. |
