| Jail For Sex Offender After Serving 25 Years |

A convicted sex offender who was expected to move back to Orange County after serving time for kidnapping and violently assaulting two young girls 27 years ago was arrested on a parole violation Wednesday, less than an hour after being released from Chino State Prison. Lawrence Brown, whose imminent release from prison drew condemnation from local law enforcement and political leaders, was headed back to Chino on Wednesday night, with authorities also announcing that two new victims had come forward, bolstering their argument that he should be designated a violent sexual predator. Wednesday, Brown was rearrested. Brown, 52, served 25 years for separate, random attacks in Santa Ana on two girls. Authorities say Brown, then 25, grabbed the girls in a red van, sexually assaulted them and warned them against reporting the attacks to anyone. Brown was convicted in February 1985 of seven felonies and was sentenced to 49 years in prison. He served roughly half that time, setting the stage for his release this week. Read More. |
