| CA County Keeping Tight Watch On Sex Offenders |

You can run, but you can't hide. That was the message a many Solano County parolees and probationers received during a week-long sweep conducted by the California Parole Apprehension Team (CPAT). Dubbed "Operation Safe Playground," the sweep focused on holding sex offenders accountable for compliance with parole and registration requirements, said Parole Agent Kurt Heffernon of the state Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. The sweep kicked off Monday and ran through Thursday, with similar operations throughout the state, Heffernon said. In Solano County, 48 officers represented the state parole agency, officers from the Vacaville, Fairfield, Dixon and Benicia police departments, the Sheriff's Office, Solano County probation and U.S. Marshals Service, teaming up to perform door-to-door compliance checks.
