SCRANTON – The Lackawanna County Prison Warden has stepped down. Warden Janine Donate resigned to the Lackawanna County Commissioners, and the resignation was accepted by members of the prison board following an executive session at their November 17 meeting, according to board members. Board members - the Lackawanna County Commissioners, Lackawanna County Controller Ken McDowell, District Attorney Andy Jarbola, Lackawanna County Sheriff John Szymanski and Judge Michael Barresse - unanimously approved Assistant Warden Timothy Betti to serve as acting warden immediately. “We’re looking forward to moving into the future and putting the prison’s past behind us,” McDowell said when reached for comment Thursday.
