A dangerous criminal has hit out at jail staff branding them lazy after his seventh escape from detention. Douglas Alward bypassed a potentially lethal electric fence in the jail break and blamed guards for not stopping him. Speaking after his escape from Sterling Jail, Colorado, Alward, who once stabbed a man and his wife in their home, said: 'The real issue is the laziness of Sterling staff.' 'Without their lack of care, none of this would have been possible.' Alward claims he prepared meticulously for two years before his escape on August 22, collecting materials every day to assist him.
